With a focus on innovation and collaboration, the center provides a space for clients to explore and implement Microsoft technologies to enhance their operations and achieve their business goals.

Upward Bound

  • Current rising ninth, tenth, or eleventh grader in the Kalamazoo Public Schools system. 
  • Participants must have a desire to attend an institution of higher education. 
  • Participants must be income eligible, potential first generation college student or both to fully receive Upward Bound services (low income as documented by parents’ or guardians’ current tax return; first generation means that parents or guardians did not attend college and do not hold bachelor’s degrees).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Students must have a desire to participate in all college preparatory activities and have a willingness to dedicate themselves to the program. Once accepted into the program, students will receive service until their high school graduation, unless otherwise noted.
  • Students who can prove that they are at-risk for poor academic performance based on adverse circumstances (e.g., migration, predominantly low-income area, foster care youth, etc.). Contact our office for more information.

  •  The Kalamazoo Promise is a pledge by a group of anonymous donors to pay up to 100 percent of tuition at many Michigan colleges and universities for graduates of the Kalamazoo Public Schools school district of Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Kalamazoo Promise applies to all of Michigan's state colleges and universities, as well as the 15 private colleges of the Michigan College Alliance and several apprenticeships and skilled trade programs.[2] To receive the minimum 65% benefit, students must have lived within the Kalamazoo School District, attended public high school there for four years, and graduated. To receive a full scholarship, students must have attended Kalamazoo public schools since kindergarten.
